If I’m wanting to set up a table in a Wordpress page or post how would I go about doing this? Is there a plug-in that can be used?
I look forward to tomorrow’s webinar.
Noel
@Barry I’d rather see the ability for WL to send an order confirmation via email (reminding people to register if they didn’t complete their registration) or even mail them when the sequential content gets them on a new membership level, before seeing a better broadcast autoresponder.
@Neil You’re welcome buddy… yep, not a big deal if you have a virtual assistant do it or you have a set time, like Fridays at 9AM, to knock out all the new winners at once.
@Noel I use WP-Table Reloaded for my tables in posts. You can upload a CSV and the table it displays is sortable by column.
Don’t really have any major questions to add to these great ones above, as I am only JUST getting my site put together. BUT…
I am indeed interested in the whole protecting downloads thing, as most of my membership offer will revolve around MP3s. If they cannot be protected, only alternatives I can think of is 1) take your chances that your members will be “possessive” and not share (hmmm…) or 2) stream the audio content instead of making them downloadable. Thoughts?
Also interested in the questions about themes that make WL work really smoothly. Just saw the comments about WP-Clear. Any thoughts about Thesis?
Thanks!
Are you going to cover multiple web sites and how to maintain each when they are identical, the only difference is the area they cover.
Does WishList have a mechanism for an autoresponder service such as double opt in? Do you direct customers to another software product that is $197 for this service?
What are some of the most creative ways people have used wish list?…..thanks. I love your info..
Similar to other questions asked, but more specifically…
In addition to protecting my download files, how can I track/limit?
*) the number of downloads
*) the IP address used to download
I like the ones above would love some sort of a feature where the user is shown more content as they perform certain actions, without me having to manually upgrade them. It could be something as simple as filling in a form to prove that they did the steps required, those are then sent to wherever the site admin wants them to go and the user is automatically upgraded to the next level so they get the new content.
If I have a free membership let say silver and would like that member to upgrade to a paid membership let say gold. Can this be done without the silver member having to re-enter all the membership information again for the new gold membership. Just a upgrade in membership level by making a upgrade payment.
My question is about the monthly models where members access different content in each month. The site I’m working on is integrated with PayPal, and it appears that we will have to change the PayPal button code each month so new members can sign up for the current month. Is that correct? If so, is there an easier way to do that?
Thanks!
Greg,
After they go through the checkout process in Wishlist, they can either register for a new account, OR there is a link above that form where if they already have an account (in your case at the free level), they can login and it will apply that membership level to the same account.
Does Wishlist integrate with any forum software?
Question #2:
What is the software you are using for the webscast?
Thanks so much–you are such a pleasant person to listen to!
Yvon
Just reading all the questions and I now just have to ask the following question:
Say I have a one time fee membership for 30 days and I then want it to go into a monthly membership… how do I do that…? Do I use sequential and if I do, will there be another sign up for setting up the new form of payment? OR … you tell me…please
AND
if this was already asked then I’m not getting it.
Hi,
I currently have a joomla site that works with SMF (SimpleMachineForum), wordpress and photo gallery. My plan is to move the joomla site over to wordpress, but keep SMF and photo gallery. Does wishlist membership work with all these products for 1 easy login?
If not, will this happen in the near future?
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Robin
Hmmm, I thought I had published this question but don’t see it on the board. Maybe it was a dream I had
- You mentioned during a recent interview, that it is possible to set up our membersite the way we’d like for it to be.
- Then use that as a template to use over and over again for future installs.
How would this be accomplished?
Thank you,
D’vorah
I want to post audios, videos and pdf on a membership site but I don’t want them to be downloadable. Is there a way to do this?
Thank you!
Helene
Can we have password protected forums in the member site?
How can we make an interactive workbook component in Wishlist whereby we can post questions for the member to answer, and the member can type the answers on the page and save to review or edit later, and also submit to admin? This would be a fantastic way to do online coaching or teaching.
Thank you.
Rae
The membership software and what to offer are half the equation. I want to know how I will sign up members, that is, get people to my site and convert them. This is the challenging part for me! Thanks.
can someone set up more than one membership site on the same URL
How do Ihave new members start at the beginning while current members get the information for the months they are at?
Is there a way to force acceptance of website policies before user registration?
We just want to GET STARTED, enrolling people at a FREE level, then we can take steps to monetize some of them when we’re providing quality content to a couple hundred interested, but Free-Bronze-MonitorOnly folk…
How do we REALLY GET STARTED and MONETIZING our membership site?

What is the latest news on the Wish List – iDev integration

Please tell us more about future INTEGRATIONS PLANNED for Wishlist Member? What other software are you planning on integrating with? I know there was some talk of idevaffiliate and authorize.net, please explain more about this and what other programs you are looking at to make wishlist member even better.
Hi!
I want to create different sections on my website, which consists of free reports, reports, directory, events, etc.
For adding any comments / submission to events registration / free reports – he has to be a registered member of the website.
Paid Reports would be like 5-10 nos and members can buy individual reports and download. Also members can buy a directory listing separately.
What ever member buys is shown in the members login section e.g. reports, edit directory listing, view events registration, etc.
Can this be done ? Looking to switch to Wordpress from Joomla CMS.
How do I set Wishlist to automatically send email notice of new entries in the blog without having to go to each of the member records of my 300 members and changing the individual setting, which seems set to NOT send. In short, I can’t find a setting to make the default to SEND a notice of a new blog entry.
Would love to know a little bit more about the api – how to use it, some example code to put us on the right course, etc. All in all I believe the api is going to be a great addition
Also, would like to know how to integrate various payment gateways so that they automatically cancel/activate members – I know the pdf document walks through this, but perhaps a little more info is needed

Hello, Stu!
Like at least one other person who’ s posted here, I’d like to know how to require a member to “pass a test” or fulfill some prescribed criteria in order to “graduate / matriculate” into the next “level” of membership.
In addition, I’d like to know how to create a static (opt-in) page in Wordpress, where the Wordpress installation is in the top-level (”home”) directory, that a site visitor will see only until s/he opts in, after which s/he’ll always go directly to the blog, without needing to revisit the static page.
Thanks!

My question is: Can you protect video content on your website? And also if you use a credit count system like bidnapper. Will the system count down someones uses til they reach zero and have to rebuy a certain amount a credit again?
Is there any type of “progress bar” plugin that we can use as they work through a course? Progress could be based on Camtasia-based quizzes – or on the module number they are on. Just wondering if there is something like that – or if I should just create a series of graphics.
If there is a graphic how would I post the individual progress bar on a per student basis, based on their individual progress?
I’d love to learn more about how wishlistmember works regarding forums, especially having different parts of a forum reserved for different membership levels.
@Rachel Young – sorry Rachel, only just noticed your message. I have the redirects set up and working okay – it directs them straight to the WL registration page. But I had the Ultra Cart support team do it for me, but I might be able to help you. Failing that their support is very good and I’m sure they would just talk you through it. I used 1shoppingcart originally and it’s more ‘user friendly’ that http://www.Ultra-cart.com, but I put that down to all the extra features that UC has. Once you learn your way around UC you realize that it blows 1sc away!
Hi!
I’m creating a membership site for Spiritual Solutions subscribers. I plan to have e-courses on WL, one part per month over say a 3- or 4-month period. I aim to keep cost of membership very affordable, but I want to the previous months content archived so that if a member wants to retrieve a previous month there will be a charge equivalent to the monthly membership fee.
Is there an easy way of doing this. Can archiving happen automatically? How can I set up a fee for the archived content so members can only access a particular content module and pay for it? The member would still have a recurring membership fee.
Are there any companies that do the setup for me? I am really new to MS and don’t understand the process very well. What should it cost to have someone use the program and set it up for me? I don’t want make any mistakes on the first one,and then I can take my time and learn as I go on the next one .
@Neil, I’ve been through their support and found it to be severely lacking (UC, not 1sc). I submitted my support ticket and they gave me a “Huh, that’s a new one” and never followed up with me any further, even after repeated emails asking what the holdup was.
So for now, I’m MANUALLY sending folks to the login page. Ugh.
@Rachel, if you want to send me an email at neilmk (at) googlemail.com I can look inside my account and see where they added the redirect script and send you some step by step instructions. You don’t wanna be having to manually send people anywhere
I’m surprised they haven’t been more helpful than that.
I my site has several different memberships whereas 75% of the content is shared and the other 25% is specific to their membership and is not relevant to other memberships. With this in mind I have pages set up in the navigation that are common to all using the private tags to display content specific to each membership. What I would like is to be able to have content on the public page explaining what it is about, which then disappears when the member logs in, at which time the private tags display the member content. It would be nice if there was some type of “public” tag. Is there a work around to this.
I’m having trouble implementing ‘Protect everything after ‘More’ tag. Could you review that? I really like the idea of a page being visible to all, including search engines, but after the opening ‘teaser’ paragraph comes a video and I want that protected for members only.
I second the requests for info on how to protect files. I put the link to the .pdf file on a protected page, but then it’s easy for someone to get hold of the direct link and it is wide open – unprotected.
Hi all,
Ok, yesterday I THOUGHT I didn’t have any questions, but after a night’s sleep I realise I have plenty, lol.
MONTHLY BILLING,WEEKLY CONTENT AND AUTORESPONDERS:
I have a similar question to @Jeff above. I am setting up a self-help/coaching site. What I want to do is have a monthly recurring payment for membership, and people receive WEEKLY content (a self-help pdf and audio meditation for the week). I can easily set up the distribution of the content via my autoresponder, GetResponse, as you have integrated it into WL (thank you!). How I plan to do that is have protected pages, and then send the autoresponder message with the link to the page although, this might not protect me from people sharing the link…I did notice that UltraCart has some sort of “one time download” link for products. Not really sure how that would work with this kind of autoresponse system, though.
Also, what if someone doesn’t pay that month and/or decides not to continue. How do I prevent the autoresponder from sending the next mailout to them? Do I (as Jeff asked) have to create a different membership level for EVERY month I will be delivering? My whole programme is currently about 24 months in length (and might go further as the site develops). As @Jeff said, it seems like a LOT of work, and I cannot help but feel there is a simpler way. THIS is the singlemost thing that is making me scratch my head as I am trying to design my membership site. PLEASE address this question tonight, as I am sure many other folks out there are wondering the same thing.
FORUMS
Someone above asked about a forum integration. I saw a video you had about (WP plugin) Simple Forum and installed it. Haven’t used it yet, but maybe that is a solution for some folks here. As I understand you can have different areas of the forum for different levels of membership, which is very cool, if I’ve understood that correctly.
PAYMENT PROCESSORS, SHOPPING CARTS and IDEVAFFILIATE
I’ve been using PayPal for the past 3 years as my payment processor/shopping cart, as I don’t do a lot of online biz and I haven’t had to pay any monthly fees. However, I really want to set up an affiliate programme, and I know 1shopping cart has this capability. I have also been seeing above discussion about UltraCart and wondering about it, although someone mentioned it is not integrated with WL???
Also, shopping carts need separate payment processors (didn’t need one with PayPal), and my head is starting to spin BIG time over all this as to whether or not to switch over to integrate an affiliate programme and possibly save money on charges.
As a simpler option, Someone else mentioned idevaffiliate, but then asked if it would be integrated with WL member. So of course this is of interest to me, in case I stick with PayPal. Could you please give soem time tonight talking about payment processors advantages/disadvantages within WL member?
Ok, guess I had more to ask than I originally thought. I am REALLY looking forward to 2nite, as I want to get my site up by Christmas.
Thanks so much!
Lynn
Just found a WP plugin called mingle that says it gives members their own page and they can interact… haven’t tried it yet… but the concept sounds good.
Forums: Can you have multiple forums such as SimplePress that can be accessed by different levels of memberships. Example: have multiple courses each with their own forum?
I have the multi-site license for WishlistMember and I think it’s a fantastic plugin for WordPress… I’m wondering if there are any plans in place to create a built-in auto-responder system into WishlistMember that could be used INSTEAD of something like aWeber or 1shoppingcart. Also… what are the pro’s and cons of this and how can some of the pitfalls be avoided when using your own server as the email autoresponder system?
Thanks for all you guys do.

I’m definitely looking forward to the call…I’m looking at starting my membership site and *blush* am suffering from analysis paralysis!
Like a lot of other folks, I want to have a forum/community associated with my membership site–not a separate login. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Are there specific themes that work better than others with WLM? What characteristics should we be looking for in a theme for that interface/functionality?
For those of us with a)no time and b) no desire to
to develop tech skills, can you recommend a
cost effective way to outsource building the
membership site? I’ve gotten quotes as high
as $5,000 which frankly seems kind of crazy.
But my time is more profitably spent doing
what I do best, so I need some
help building my sites. Thanks!
Is there a way to have 2 backend layers of membership.
I want to have multiple content producers have their own chanel (or membership) within my main member site.
Thanks
Tracy and Stu,
I love your plugin it rocks!
I’d like to know the best process for when a member cancels/refunds
the steps to go through to refund them and remove their membership
membership site: http://www.gettingyourbookwritten.com
Microcontinuity? 26 weekly lessons billed at monthly intervals.
So is each of the 26 lessons a membership level?
And, when I put this on clickbank, can I just put the first one? They aren’t all done yet.
Thanks
My question is:
How can I have one level of membership that sees everything all at once, with a second level that receives some new content every week for 6 months?
