    Hi guys…
Thinking that your modular course will be great…but what if we only need one or two of the modules… like skipping the concept, theme, promo… have already got the site up and am now looking for input more on function… process… follow through… will there be an option for just the parts we need….just a thought.

The comparison single to multi shows no “recurring payments”.
If I have members signed up and paying monthly or quarterly, rather than yearly, can I not have them billed automatically? (recurring?)
If not how would I handle this without doing it manually?

    Thanks

    Dave

Wow! Almost 2 hours of non-stop, high density information. I was riveted to every word! Great webinar Stu and Tracy!

I can’t wait to get my site working …

I signed up to attend the teleseminar but was unable to attend. When will the recording be available?

    Thanks,

In the TS Mod 7 you mentioned something about re-billing… does that automatically happen when an account goes into sequential upgrade?

A nice feature to have would be a way to “unlock” content after a certain period of time. And I am not talking about membership levels and moving people down various levels, that is not an ideal solution and too hard to set up. A better idea is to have a little box on the post edit screen near where the publish on date box is, but have an option that says “publish this content after X days, x months after member joins”. That way, we can tease out the content and encourage people to stay on longer as a member. If we say, for example “special bonus for members who stay for at least 3 months”, secret content gets unlocked because we know you are serious about your success and we want to reward our loyal members. I think this would be a very powerful tool. We could then show these bonus items ghosted out in the sidebar area as “EXTRA UNADVERTISED LOYALTY BONUS ITEMS: UNLOCKED AFTER 3 MONTHS MEMBERSHIP”. Powerful huh? It’s all about creating more goodies, value and lock-in to get people to stay longer instead of joining and downloading everything all at once.

      G’day mate,

I am a jewelry designer and have been trying for 18 months to set up a site with the functionality which you now make possible. I have been to several developers and hosting companies, recreated my 5 own websites 23 times and then it happened, the WordPress breakthrough and you mate!!!
After all of the negative experiences I now appreciate the value and am setting up my own hosting company with 53 projects in line, some of my own and others for clients.

This is to say a big THAN YOU and that I am looking forward to this loyalty reward feature because that is what I need next.

      Thanx!

      Rhodian

  8. Robert November 25, 2009 at 1:15 pm #

Oh and something I just thought of…how about also having this option available for the categories and even pages (and posts). That way we can set full categories of content to appear after X days or X months from member joining. Category 1 could be module 1, Category 2 could be module 2, and so on. And another category could be “bonus items”, “3 month loyalty gifts”, etc. Powerful POWERFUL!

Is there a recording or a replay of the call? I am sure that there must be others like myself who had to be in bed because it was during the night in our country.

Is it possible to build a 2 Tier Membership Model combined with 21 module trainings for each tier. The tiers are member(discounted rate) and nonmember (retail rate). Could you use the one plug in or have two use two?

  11. Brian Duvall November 28, 2009 at 4:19 pm #

How do I get your membership training program. I bought the full package for Wishlist Member but I don’t know what pages to set-up, what they should say, what order they should be created in, etc. Your tutorial shows how to use the features of the software but I need to know what to do with it first.

    Thanks.

    • Sandra Lenington July 12, 2010 at 7:44 pm #

Ditto to Brian’s post!! I am just starting a site and want to offer multiple-week trainings on multiple topics.
I see how to set up pages, posts but don’t get how to put it all together.

Also tried to link to paypal according to the instructions on the /micro site, but there was no id number showing in wishlist(the number that had to match the paypal box) .

I live in Australia Stu and couldn’t make the live questions. Where can I watch the replay or listen to the audio?

    Thank you
    Jonathan

  13. @Brian Duvall – the videos that show step by step what pages to set up and how are SOOOO helpful! They answered all of my questions!

Once you login to your WL site, you should find a way to access them under WLPlugin.

    Hope that helps!

Mingle was mentioned earlier (Karrie, 11/24). Any reports on compatibility?

I’m rebuilding my sites on my computer before uploading, and it looks like WLM & Mingle would complement each other if they play together well.

I’m reworking my sites on my computer before uploading. One site as a professional community site, and another site for course content and a student community.

    Hey Stu,

Love the attitude… the fact that Seth is probably my favorite ‘pulse’ author, I just have to try for the prize.

PS Be looking for my resume, would love to learn from you guys.

  16. Peter February 5, 2010 at 5:27 pm #

I have wishlist on my site and it seems to work great. Great product. But I’d like to be able for an individual to sign up for more than one level.

I am developing several short lessons and am assigning levels to each lesson. But my students may what to purchase several lessons. Is there a way a subscriber can purchase several different levels of membership at one time?

My current solution would be to let them know they can only sign up for one at a time, but then I have to cut the membership time very short.

    Hope for some answers.

    • Rhodian March 22, 2010 at 1:13 am #

      Hi Peter,

I am all new to this and am setting up an online jewelry academy as one of my projects. I use the sequential upgrade feature to move them along progressively through their course and thought that I would have to create additional membership levels for each course so that I can ad that membership to their current one. I have no idea if this makes sense and have not done it yet so let us know if you manage to work it out.

where do I go to access the bonuses that come with the multi-site license? I’ve supported 2 support tickets, but haven’t received any response or confirmation that they were recieved.

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:43 am #

      Dave

You can access the Bonuses by logging into the Customer Center. http://customers.wishlistproducts.com

Once logged in, you will see a Bonus section in the navigation. If you do not receive and email notification when you submit a ticket, we suggest logging into the Ticket System and searching for your ticket as it is possible that the notification email that is sent when we reply is not getting to yoru Inbox.

  18. Aaron Yeagle March 10, 2010 at 1:02 pm #

I saw a Wishlist Member site that displayed different sidebar widgets based on whether a visitor was a member or not. This does not seem to be a function within WishList nor is there a plugin that manages this.

Any idea if this can be a builtin function of WLM?

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:47 am #

      Aaron

That type of functionality is controlled by a widget that we have in development and will be releasing in the future. It has been BETA tested on some sites and we are now just finalizing aspects of it prior to its release. More details to follow :)

  19. Frank Daley March 11, 2010 at 3:35 pm #

Is your price a one time thing nor do we pay annually? And if so what is/are the price(s)

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:49 am #

The purchase price of WishList Member is for the license. If you would like continued Support and Upgrades after 1 year, there is an optional $47 annual fee for this.

  20. Tom Vizzini March 14, 2010 at 8:31 pm #

My site is growing well but I am having trouble emailing the members. My server only allows 500 emails per hour. I have 1000 members.

Are you guys working on a way to throttle the email delivery? I know other WP sites are having the same problem. Some servers only allow 100 emails per hour.

    Hoping for a solution

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:59 am #

      Tom

You are correct that some servers place limits on the number of outgoing emails. Your server should send the 2nd batch of 500 emails the next hour, but you would need to check with them. For more info on this, please submit a ticket to http://www.wishlistproducts.com/support

  21. Brandon March 23, 2010 at 1:28 pm #

how do you delete an entire membership level with all of its members? Or just the level?

  22. Alex Navas March 24, 2010 at 12:19 pm #

@Peter – I am also looking to do the same thing. I sell several products but want to have the download and registration all on my main site so that there’s one place they can download all the products they have purchased.

All of these products are individual levels too but I don’t know how to set it up appropriately so the user has access to all the levels they’ve purchased.

  23. Heather March 24, 2010 at 8:39 pm #

    Hi,

I am using the Builder theme from iThemes and have created different layouts for each page. How can I have the WL plugin on more than one layout? When I try to add the widget to a new layout I can’t find it in the list of Widgets.

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 12:06 pm #

      Heather,

The current WishList Login widget can only be used on ONE sidebar at this time as that is how it was developed. BUT, the next release of WishList Member will include the option to place the WishList Login widget on multiple sidebars so keep an eye out for that.

  24. Jason March 28, 2010 at 1:01 pm #

I setup a different page template for one of my pages since I wanted the content to be presented a bit differently. By applying the new template, which contains most of page.php except for sidebar.php, that the program does not protect that page. As a matter of fact the page doesn’t even show up in the list of “Content Protected” pages. Does anyone know how to get this page protected?

  25. stuart April 1, 2010 at 7:48 am #

    Hi guys,
I am about to set up a few member sites,
I use WP as CMS for the front of these sites,
I intended to link to a PHp script in a subfolder…

The one function I need is the ability to integrate an affiliate program for the membership site.

I havent seen any affiliate plugins for WP,
Do you have an aff. plugin withion wishlist member, or intending to, or can you advise how easy it would be to integrate with one?

    thanks

    stuart

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 12:09 pm #

      Stuart,

You can use the existing Affiliate programs in options like 1Shopping Cart when someone purchases your Membership Level. Also, we will be releasing an integration with iDev in the near future which will allow for an Affiliate program to be run.

For more info on either of these options, please submit a ticket to http://www.wishlistproducts.com/support

  26. Kathie April 2, 2010 at 12:28 am #

Is there a way to edit their membership date? I’m importing an existing set of members and their renewal dates are all different – I don’t want their renewals happening 12 months from today but at their correct times.

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 12:11 pm #

      Kathie

There is a “Date Added to Level” feature that you can view by clicking the Member’s username in the Members tab, BUT you cannot set this date to before the Member was added to your site. This is something we are considering looking into down the road.

  27. Peter Dulay April 3, 2010 at 8:35 pm #

I have purchased the WL Member product and love what it does. I have initially purchased it to allow me to keep track of my members and their payments. My product really entails offering turnkey blog setups to my clients through subdomains. Will you guys ever create the option where Members in WL are actually Users in WPMU? That would be so awesome and I would even donate good money to see this come out sooner than later. Anything on the horizon? Anyway to buy a custom proprietary mod?

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 12:13 pm #

      Peter,

We have gotten numerous requests in regards to WPMU working with WishList Member and we do need to do more testing to see if this will become a reality. This is on a list of items we are looking into.

  28. Peter Dulay April 3, 2010 at 8:37 pm #

PS. Gary V is the bomb tizzle. What a great surprise to see him there with you. Much thanks!

  29. Sunny April 4, 2010 at 10:16 pm #

In the ‘Manage members’ section (WL Member » Manage Members) I would like the members to be displayed based on the date of joining….BY DEFAULT!

I know that I can get this by clicking on the relevant link, but then, the next time I want WL to remember that.

  30. Kathie April 11, 2010 at 10:28 pm #

Step by step documentation, rather than videos, would be useful. I don’t want to be trying to fast forward to find the bit I’m looking for. Whereas printing off step-by-step documentation makes it easy to find the bits I want. I have what is already available but it doesn’t answer all my questions.

what is the code to display the registration page? it seems this link is not displaying when your not logged in as admin at the back end..any help? is this the code? [register_standard] ? but it doesnt work… can you help me..thanks..

  32. Teresa Dietze April 23, 2010 at 10:31 pm #

    Hi Stu,

Can the membership shift from one level to the next be contingent upon completing a quiz? How would that work?

What is your favorite theme if content is super heavy on video content?

    • WPWL Team June 30, 2010 at 1:33 pm #

WishList Member does not have a quiz feature that would function as you have requested, but you could use an existing quiz plugni and then manually upgrade the member once they pass.

WOO Themes is a good place to look for a theme – as far as a good theme for a video heavy site, it’s really a bit up in the air as preference comes into play.

  33. Joanne Todd May 20, 2010 at 9:05 am #

Board members want a protected area where they can confidentially post Homeowners Request and comment about them before their board meetings. I am having trouble getting the comments and images to be protected. The actual Posts and board members Page seem fine and restricts access to just those logged in as Board level membership. But not the Comments or Images. How can I make that happen?

    • WPWL Team June 30, 2010 at 1:30 pm #

Comments will be protected automatically when a post is protected and you then just need to set ACCESS for those protected comments in the Membership Levels – Membership Content tab.

Images (and other media) will be able to be protected in the next version of WLM. We are planning on releasing this soon, so keep an eye out for that!

  34. Allan Punton May 30, 2010 at 4:02 pm #

is there a way to allow members to create their own page and add images to it?

    • WPWL Team June 30, 2010 at 1:28 pm #

That is a bit beyond what WishList Member was developed to accomplish. But, there are more than likely WordPress plugins out there that would do what you want and could possibly be integrated with WLM.

  35. Alex May 31, 2010 at 4:33 pm #

Is Wishlist Member app integrated with Authorize.net? We currently use that.

    Thanks

    • WPWL Team June 22, 2010 at 3:15 pm #

We do not have a full integration with Authorize.net, but we are working on this and hope to have it complete soon. In the meantime, you can use SIMPLE integration with Authorize.net (and any other payment options)

You can find how to do this using the Support Document from the Customer Center. If you login, you can get that here:

      http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/quick-start-guide-2/

Does your software allow me to do
recurring billing (monthly) to my customers? Yes or No

    • WPWL Team June 22, 2010 at 2:52 pm #

Yes, recurring billing can be done. That is handled by the payment processor you select. If you are able to do recurring billing with the payment processor you choose, you are all set!

how do you add mugshots to their profile and comments..

    • WPWL Team June 30, 2010 at 1:20 pm #

Using Gravatars is a popular method to displaying images of members. We use the Gravatar Enhanced Recent Comments Widget and Gravatar Widget on http://www.wishlistinsider.com

This allows for any users gravatar images to appear accordingly.

    Hello,
I am going to create membership site, and for that i was searching plugin. And someone recommended me wishlist. But my friend said that your plugin doesn’t support “user email validation before login”.
Is that right?Do you have any support for that?
Please answer me as soon as possible, and want to launch my new site very soon. And Is you plugin good compare to memberwing and amember.
Guide me please.I will buy multisite license.

    • WPWL Team June 30, 2010 at 1:16 pm #

We are going to be releasing a new version of WishList Member VERY soon and it will include an option for the admin of the site to validate an account before that member has access to the site.

There will also be an option that will require the Member to opt-in via an email that is sent to them after registration. So, the option will be there when the new version if released.

    • WPWL Team August 27, 2010 at 10:13 am #

WishList Member is a one time cost to purchase. This includes one year of updates. We will be applying an optional annual fee for upgrades in the future.

Do you offer an indirect upgrade price? I have an amember site. I am thinking about changing over to a wishlist site. Do you offer a competitive upgrade? Is there a trial version? I paid a lot to have the amember site done along with various integration. I am not satisfied with the site and want to consider this one. Please advise.

Hi! Which version of wordPress does your software run best on?

    • WPWL Team September 16, 2010 at 2:49 pm #

The latest version of WishList Member was developed to run on the latest version of WordPress but will also run on the last version of WordPress as well.

  46. Sean October 1, 2010 at 6:13 pm #

Is Wishlist able to assign sequential numbers for members? In other words, first to sign up is number 1 (or 001 or 000000001 or xxxxxxxxxxxx1 depending on the configuration/settings) – it is important to me as a potential customer that my membership software be capable of automatically assigning such numbers without manual input i.e at the point of member sign up.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    • WPWL Team October 4, 2010 at 2:17 pm #

This is not a feature that WishList Member currently has in it’s core. You may be able to find a WordPress plugin that will help you accomplish this but we can’t guarantee that it would function with WishList Member.

  47. Elle October 31, 2010 at 6:57 pm #

I have set up a microcontinuity site for an online weight loss program, where people get new information every week for 6 months.
The microcontinuity video says to create a new ‘subscribe’ button for each week – just wondering if I have to do that, or if putting week 1 ‘subscribe’ button up on the website sales page (where there are 2 weeks’ trial period for $1) is enough? Will they then move through the weeks automatically?

    Thanks, Elle

    • WPWL Team November 1, 2010 at 1:55 pm #

@Elle – If you set up a sequential upgrade, then you only need the one purchase button. You just need to be sure that your Membership Levels are NOT set to expire and that you set the Membership Levels to upgrade accordingly in the Sequential Upgrade tab. Please feel free to submit a ticket if you have any more in depth questions.

  48. Micheal Jake December 11, 2010 at 3:37 pm #

I followed your API examples and am trying to insert members.

    generic_call(‘AddUser’, array(‘username’=>’test’, ‘email’=>’someemail@gmail.com’,
    ‘password’=>’password’, ‘firstname’=>’V',’lastname’=>’O')
    );

    $wishlist->generic_call(‘AddUserLevels’, array(‘id’=>8, ‘levels’=>array(1288889829,1288894382 ) ) );

    ?>

With the example code above on php 5.2.14 I get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home2/thelocc0/public_html/wishlist.php on line 13

    Please help.

How do I back up my customer database? Apparently it is necessary before we upgrade (both Word Press and WishList). We saw information on backing up settings, but not the customer database.

    • WPWL Team December 22, 2010 at 1:56 pm #

The WishList Member backup feature will backup your Members as well. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/5ww94Z44V The WishList Backup feature is located in the Settings Tab.

If you want to fully backup the WordPress database you can try the wp-db-backup plugin
