Sequential Delivery Has Been Added

A number of people from our beta group requested a feature that would allow a site owner to automatically graduate members from one membership level to another.

So for example, if you had a membership site that delivered content in a “modular” format (Module 1, Module 2, Module 3) and you didn’t want people accessing “Module 2″ until the second month of their membership, or “Module 3″ until the third month, it was very difficult to manage.

The other part about this was the fact that you could have members joining your site at different intervals and so the more people that join, the crazier it gets when you have this kind of setup… UNTIL NOW!

Now that WL Member has the Sequential Upgrade feature built right into it, you can graduate/upgrade members from one membership level to another on a predetermined schedule.

For example, using the same example from above, you would simply create a membership level called “Module 1″, “Module 2″, and “Module 3″.  Then in the Sequential Upgrade section of WL Member, you would set the options so that people in “Module 1″ would be automatically upgraded to “Module 2″ after 30 days and people of “Module 2″ would be automatically upgraded to “Module 3″ after another 30 days.

The other great part about this plugin is the fact that you can “pause” or “disable” a person’s sequential upgrade.  So if the member stops paying, just disable their sequential upgrade.  That way, they’ll only have access to the modules they paid for and if down the road they want to continue their membership, they can pick up right where they left off

Another way to use this feature is if you are running a “Trial” for your membership.  If your trial offer was $1 for 7 days and then you automatically charged them your full monthly fee after the 7 days (if they didn’t decide to cancel), you could create a “$1 Trial” membership level and then have members automatically get upgraded to the full membership after 7 days (or when the monthly charge occurs).

I’m sure you can see, there are a whole bunch of ways you can get creative with this feature.

The Sequential Upgrade was a great idea that came from our Beta group and it’s definitely opened up a lot of new options for people using WL Member.  We’re just excited that it’s already been integrated into Version 1
