Thanks for a great video! I’ve been studying and implementing WishList sites since the beginning and I learned several things from this video.

    Great work, Stu!!

Great overview of how to use the plugin. I bought the software but am in the process of familiarizing myself with all the feature prior to activating it.

I would love it there could be a One-Time-Offer feature built in too. :)

Hey Stu – really appreciate your videos – am wishlist multiple owner and still trying to grasp how to best implement for my projects -thanks for continuing to be informative.

  4. Bill Preston November 18, 2009 at 7:31 pm #

I definitely may want to implement this as an add on to sell content on my forum. Thanks.

Muy Bueno este video, Gracias por las Ideas son super
    cool. Desde Puerto Rico.

  6. Dave Hamilton November 18, 2009 at 9:33 pm #

Great video Stu, always great to stir new ideas!

On that note, I thought I’d share my WL application. I sell a minisite program (7MinuteMinisites.com) which consists of a WP theme download, plus over 20 video training modules, plus a lot of other goodies (free graphics, etc).

I NEVER could have done this by asking people to download a monster zip file.. and I didn’t want to ship out products. WL Member has be the PERFECT solution.

The other perk.. every time I create a new updated version, or record a new training module, all I do is send out an email to customers and they can go check it out themselves.

Can’t say enough how great WL Member has been for me, keep up the great work!

    -Dave

  7. Cathy Perkins November 18, 2009 at 10:37 pm #

I so agree Dave. WishList has made life so much easier for my clients AND for me in my consulting and training businesses. I just delivered my WordPress WorkShop through WishList. SOOOO easy!! I’ll rearrange things a bit and deliver the January WorkShop through the same site.

I’ve had rave reviews from my clients who are using it too. One came over from the dark side (Joomla) to WishList and is amazed at how easy it is to administer and add content.

Thanks Stu, great video. We just went live with a our site for managers (www.wilymanager.com) and went through an interesting progression from one membership model to another during the development of the site. At first, we set up a combo site (Model #10)which was a combination of Publisher (#1) and Protected Download (#5). But, realizing that the most important thing we could do was build our ‘list’, we have changed to a private Member’s Area (#8). Lots of public content (for google), and lots of protected content – and membership is free. The ability to integrate with Aweber has been critical. Thanks for keeping us thinking….

I am sooo excited about the possibilities using Wishlist Member. I was able to [fairly easily] set up a site for Montessori parents. They receive access to only their own school’s newsletters, contact lists, etc. (I guess in your video this falls under the Coaching model) Using category-specific RSS feeds, they can also receive an email every time their school…and ONLY their school posts a new message.

  10. David Pierpoint November 19, 2009 at 3:09 am #

Nice job Stu – great presentation on the different models.

Couldn’t make the Vegas event, but I’m looking forward to listening to the audios.

Currently using the WishList Member with one of our micro-continuity sites (based on Russell Brunson’s methodology).

Is a *perfect* fit with the WordPress platform, hooked up to 1Shoppingcart, and using Screencast to host and deliver integrated video content.

Looking forward to additional implementation ideas!

    David

  11. Aly November 19, 2009 at 11:29 pm #

Hi, brilliant video. I am considering how this could be used in my business and have found your videos very helpful. Many thanks. Aly

  12. Donna November 20, 2009 at 2:12 am #

    Hi Stu,

Thanks for a no-hype, clear presentation. Most of my sites are self-hosted WordPress blogs, so this caught my eye. I already see the value of more than one membership model for one site, so was pleased to see that option as #10.

Look forward to learning more about this!

    Best,
    Donna

  13. Dave Frank November 20, 2009 at 2:48 am #

Wow, thanks for all of the great information on video, Wishlist looks like an awesome add on for wordpress.

I was just thinking about building something yesterday that I think I can use wishlist for instead of developing from scratch…

    Thanks again

Thanks for this, I purchase Wishlist Member but I have so much to do each day it takes time to find time to learn and implement everything, I am looking forward to your videos on each model. They will save LOTS of time for busy people.

  16. Mary Thompson November 22, 2009 at 3:02 am #

Can you have several different courses on the same site?

    Hi
the wishlist plugin is great, and the support has been awesome, I feel like I know you guys personally. We’re just ready to properly launch our site http://www.PublishingAcademy.com in December (been in beta mode for a couple of months while we got ourselves organised) – it’s really exciting ;-)

Stu, if you want to interview us that’d be great. I’ll pop a message over at the support centre.

I love how you outlined the different membership models.

Makes it easy to follow and think through our strategies.

This is something I will definitely pass onto my students

  20. Kaya November 28, 2009 at 7:12 pm #

    Excellent video.

Thank you for making it so clear. I would love if you add a model called “forum, ” where the main event is a forum that allows for discussions. As the forum is the main feature there would be less clutter and very for new users easy to navigate.

‘Simple press is not simple and hard to figure out how to navigate. If people are confused they won’t do it.

I would want no more than 5 discussions but one long forum where all the new topics are shown with newest at the top regardless of which discussion.

  21. Goetz Haindorff December 1, 2009 at 4:38 pm #

    Hey Stu,

    clear presentation. Looks great.
Do you set up those sites for customers as a service, as well?
I don´t have the time to do it myself, so I need to delegate it.

Just found out about your service through Lou Dalo.

Excellent video! Clear and concise, you provided me with excellent strategies for my new site.

I watched many of your videos before I purchased to make sure I could set up my own membership site. YES! I can do this! Your tutorials are excellent and make it easy to do. Thank you!

thanks for the video, i am thinking to buy the plugin for one of my projects.

  24. Greg Fleischaker February 16, 2010 at 3:07 pm #

so cool, this is just what I have been looking for, I am very excited to order your product and give it a try. I saw one or two other questions about a Forum. Is that one the way, or is there a plugin that works well with your product?

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:21 am #

We have heard that Simple Press can be a very effective Forum that can be used with WishList Member. For more info on this, please submit a ticket to http://www.wishlistproducts.com/support

Thank you for the clear, understandable video and tutorials for customers. Your team at WLM makes the complicated simple and FUN!

  26. Michael K. Jensen March 7, 2010 at 6:07 pm #

    Hi all.

How does is it integrate with my thesis theme at my website at http://www.MichaelKimJensen.com ?

    Best regards,
    Michael K. Jensen

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:40 am #

      Michael

You can use the Thesis theme, but you do need to be careful when setting which pages appear in the theme navigation as this can sometimes overwrite the protection settings of WishList Member. For more info on this, you can submit a ticket to http://wishlistproducts.com/support

  27. Michael Neal March 9, 2010 at 9:49 pm #

I am very anxious to use your program. I have some niche knowledge in a few area’s which I plan to set up…..will let you know how it goes.

That sounds great! Good luck with everything :)

  28. Melanie Banks March 10, 2010 at 12:25 pm #

What I could only wish to see would be an affiliate program implemented into the membership site. I want a way to reward members for referring others.

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 11:44 am #

      Melanie

We are continuing to work on an integration with iDev which we hope to have complete soon. Keep an eye out for an announcement regarding this in the future.

  29. Dr. Andrew Colyer March 16, 2010 at 9:40 pm #

    Hey, Stu!

Thank you so much for this video! We have a multi-site license, and the functions are totally different on the websites. Thank you so much for helping to clarify the different ways we can use the WLM software, and you gave us new ideas we hadn’t even thought of!

    Thanks again.

Just want to say thanks for a great (and easy to use!) product – and for the $25 special you guys ran last week. I now use Wishlist member on two separate sites. To be able to run multiple memberships from the same site, then move people around as needed is awesome. Thanks again.

    • WPWL Team April 15, 2010 at 12:03 pm #

      Jazz

We are happy that we have been able to assist in making your Membership Sites flourish! Good luck with both your sites (and any future ones).

  31. Flowers April 7, 2010 at 10:59 am #

WOW. I’ve been trying to figure out the whole membership thing, and your video was just crystal clear about how all the different models worked, especially micro-continuity. All I can say is SWEET, and I’ll be getting your plugin soon.

  32. walter daniels April 11, 2010 at 2:47 pm #

I’m not sure if this falls in your area, but would it be possible to set up a rotating ad display. For example, a customer pays for a period of time (6 months, or year) and their “ad” (site name and URL) is displayed, on a rotating basis, in a section on WordPress?
Assume that the blog is set up with 2 columns, and the right hand column is a collection of 5 “ad’s.” The customer’s ad is displayed in rotation, rising from pos. 5 (bottom) to top. If there are more than 5 total members of the ad service, the next in line takes the bottom position, and moves up. The display changes with each refresh, or new visitor.

  33. walter daniels April 11, 2010 at 2:50 pm #

By mistake, a letter was left out of the address, on the last post. {:-{P This post has the correct return addy.
That request, is the only thing I can come up with that might be missing. Otherwise, you seem to have covered every possibility. Congratulations.

I am so glad I stumbled across this! The membership landscape and the different plugins and themes had left me confused … nice to see all the options other than WordPress. That’s my fave though, so your approach looks like a winner!

  36. Peter June 16, 2010 at 2:53 pm #

I am new to wordpress and have just began building my blog. A community is the next phase in the buildout. How does your product differ from Buddypress? Will I be able to upgrade to wordpress 3.0 when it becomes available (should be soon)?

    • WPWL Team June 22, 2010 at 2:58 pm #

The easiest way to answer you is to explain what WishList Member does.

WishList Member protects WordPress Categories, Comments, Posts and Pages and then you are able to allow Membership Levels access to those Categories, Comments, Pages and Posts.

A Member registers for a Membership Level and that is how that Member accesses protected content – through the Membership Level they are a part of.

We are currently working to ensure that WishList Member will function with WordPress 3.0 Once all our testing is complete, we will let everyone know that WishList Member will function with WordPress 3.0

  37. Naoshad Nayeem June 17, 2010 at 10:33 am #

I am a webdeveloper and also very familiar with wordpress.I come to know about your plugin via one of my client. They purchased it and wants me to integrate it. Hope will have fun working on it.
Also do you have any target to add new payment gateway? or provide any short documentation how we can add other gateway? Thanks for a gr8 plugin!

    • WPWL Team June 22, 2010 at 2:55 pm #

Thanks for the kind words and good luck with the site, Naoshad! We are always working on new payment integrations and hope to have an full integration with Authorize.net in the future (we don’t have a form release for this currently).

You can use any gateway if you use SIMPLE integration. You can find documentation on this in the Customer Center when you login:

Very nice presentation. I got to use this plugin through one of my client that outsourced me…I’m from the Philippines by the way.

Overall, very nice and easy to use plugin.

    • Poppie September 22, 2010 at 9:21 pm #

      Hi Prince,
I’m looking for someone to configure this Wishlist Membership site for me as soon as I buy it…With a month or so, all being well.

      Kindest,
      Poppie
PS…I don’t know how to contact you or if it’s ethical this way, but there is a reply button here for you, so here goes!
My Skype is poppiedee & I would love to talk with you.
      Thanks again

    Hi

is there any shortcode used where i can put in registration and login within a post.
ie disable part of a post for only registraded member

    • WPWL Team July 29, 2010 at 2:18 pm #

You are able to place the registration or login merge codes into any page or post. These are displayed under the content sections of any page or post. Pleased feel free to submit a ticket if you need further explaination as the area to type here is pretty small :)

  41. Mark Walker August 8, 2010 at 5:30 am #

An extremely useful insight in to the various ways WishList can be used Stu. All my successful sites are built using WishList and I am more than happy to give this video the ‘thumbs up’ and a personal recommendation.

  42. Rolan August 12, 2010 at 9:09 pm #

Is Wishlist member plugin capable of implementing any of the membership model?

    • WPWL Team August 13, 2010 at 8:51 am #

You can use WishList Member to set up a site based on any of the Membership Models shown.

  43. donfelix September 14, 2010 at 1:24 pm #

can i get the 10 models in pdf ebook format

    • WPWL Team September 28, 2010 at 9:01 am #

We currently do not have a pdf of the 10 Models as you are requesting, but that is an interesting idea for something we could produce in the future.

  44. Jer September 30, 2010 at 10:42 am #

WHEN is your wonderful training COMING for EACH of the 10 Membership Models? What date is target release date? Heck …don’t need to save release for ALL. Even some would be nice. But WHEN, WHEN, WHEN? Gimme-a-date-p..l..e..a..s..eeeee.

    • WPWL Team September 30, 2010 at 1:17 pm #

We have not scheduled our next training course for WishList Member but once the date is set, we will be letting everyone know so keep an eye out for that.

  45. TM October 12, 2010 at 5:38 pm #

where can I find a PDF of the 10 different membership to set ups?

    • WPWL Team October 15, 2010 at 2:26 pm #

There actually is not a PDF of the 10 different memberships. That’s a good idea and one that we will consider :)

  46. LeeAnn Summers October 21, 2010 at 11:51 am #

Would be very nice if you create a link in training or pdf showing us how to setup each of these models. It may seem simple to you that we should be able to figure it out. But why should we spend hours doing testing trying to figure it out.

    • WPWL Team October 26, 2010 at 12:44 pm #

We appreciate your suggestion LeeAnn and are actually considering creating documentation for this in the future. We have a few things on our plate we need to finish up first though before we decide.

  47. Rich Dennis October 27, 2010 at 1:37 pm #

Thanks for the info… I’m working on building a membership site right now and plan on using WishList Member.

    • WPWL Team October 29, 2010 at 2:32 pm #

That’s great to hear! We wish you luck with your new site :)

  48. eben dennis November 6, 2010 at 10:36 pm #

Can you give me some good membership sites to look at.I am building my golf site with video e-book blog content and other options and want to make sure I can protect and drip content to my members plus use my current pages.

    • eben dennis November 6, 2010 at 10:40 pm #

Also can you recommend the best hosting services that work with wishlist

      • WPWL Team November 9, 2010 at 2:41 pm #

When it comes to server environments, basically, if WordPress can run on your server, you should have no issues with WishList Member as they are very similar.

We have heard that LiquidWeb and Lunar Pages are pretty good in terms of hosting.

    • WPWL Team November 9, 2010 at 2:35 pm #
